POS Deployment Technician – Oracle Simphony Rollout $20-$25 per Hour

We are seeking experienced POS Deployment Technicians to support a large-scale nationwide Oracle Simphony rollout across restaurant locations throughout 2026.

Technicians will work in two-person deployment teams performing overnight POS replacements, hardware installations, system validation, and go-live support in live restaurant environments.

Responsibilities

 

  • Remove and replace legacy POS hardware
  • Install and configure Oracle Simphony Linux workstations
  • Install and validate:
  • POS terminals
  • Receipt and kitchen printers
  • Kitchen Display Systems (KDS)
  • Credit card PIN pads
  • Peripheral devices including barcode scanners and cash drawers
  • Perform Ethernet/network connectivity validation
  • Troubleshoot hardware and device communication issues
  • Complete end-to-end testing including:
  • POS login validation
  • Printing functionality
  • Payment processing
  • KDS order flow
  • Coordinate with remote project managers and support teams
  • Complete installation documentation and milestone reporting

Schedule

  • Overnight installs Sunday–Wednesday
  • Typical start time around restaurant closing (approximately 9:00 PM)
  • Install duration: 6–8 hours
  • Day 2 go-live support:
  • 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (2nd tech)
  • Cashier support, till setup, and live transaction validation

Required Qualifications

  • Previous POS installation or field technician experience
  • Experience working in restaurant, retail, or enterprise environments
  • Comfortable working overnight shifts
  • Familiarity with:
  • Linux-based POS systems
  • Receipt and kitchen printers
  • Payment peripherals and PIN pads
  • Ethernet and basic networking concepts
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Ability to travel nationwide

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle MICROS Simphony experience
  • Multi-site deployment experience
  • QSR or high-volume restaurant experience
  • Experience following structured install guides and checklists
