About the Role

JCTTEK is seeking an experienced Principal Advisor, Liquid Cooling & MEP Systems to support the independent commissioning of advanced AI Factory deployments and fully liquid-cooled data center environments.

This senior-level position serves as an independent Commissioning Authority (CxA), responsible for verifying that critical infrastructure systems have been installed, tested, and validated in accordance with the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR) and design intent.

The successful candidate will oversee the commissioning process from early design review through integrated systems testing, including load-bank testing and simulated failure scenarios. This individual will provide independent technical oversight and formally document that the facility performs as designed.

An active BCxP or CxA credential is mandatory. Candidates must also demonstrate direct experience commissioning 100% liquid-cooled data center halls and maintain independence from equipment sales activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the independent Commissioning Authority for AI Factory builds and liquid-cooled data center deployments.
  • Lead and execute the full commissioning process across Levels 1–5, from initial component verification through integrated systems testing.
  • Review the Owner’s Project Requirements, design documents, and commissioning specifications during early design stages.
  • Evaluate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems to verify compliance with project requirements and design intent.
  • Develop commissioning plans, test procedures, schedules, and acceptance criteria.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee load-bank testing and integrated systems performance testing.
  • Design and supervise deliberate failure-scenario testing to validate system resilience, redundancy, and recovery behavior.
  • Evaluate liquid-cooling infrastructure, including system integration, operational performance, and readiness for high-density GPU environments.
  • Verify coordination between cooling systems, electrical infrastructure, controls, and supporting mechanical systems.
  • Identify deficiencies, document commissioning findings, and coordinate corrective actions with project stakeholders.
  • Produce commissioning reports, test records, deficiency logs, and final acceptance documentation.
  • Serve as the designated signatory confirming that the facility has been tested and performs in accordance with its approved requirements.
  • Maintain independent technical judgment throughout the commissioning process, free from equipment sales or vendor sales influence.
  • Communicate commissioning status, technical risks, and readiness assessments to customers, project leadership, and relevant stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of experience in data center commissioning, mission-critical facilities, or related infrastructure commissioning.
  • Direct, demonstrable experience commissioning 100% liquid-cooled data center halls.
  • An active Building Commissioning Professional (BCxP) or Commissioning Authority (CxA) credential. This is a mandatory, non-negotiable requirement.
  • Strong knowledge of mission-critical mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Experience executing commissioning Levels 1–5 and managing integrated systems testing.
  • Demonstrated experience with load-bank testing, functional performance testing, and failure-scenario validation.
  • Ability to interpret Owner’s Project Requirements, design documents, technical specifications, and commissioning procedures.
  • Strong technical documentation, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 80% of the time to project sites nationwide.
  • Ability to operate independently and provide objective commissioning findings and sign-off.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience commissioning high-density GPU infrastructure and AI Factory environments.
  • Familiarity with liquid-cooling technologies used in advanced computing environments.
  • Experience validating electrical distribution, backup power, cooling redundancy, controls, and integrated facility operations.
  • Background in commissioning large-scale hyperscale or colocation data center facilities.
  • Experience working with complex mission-critical infrastructure and resilience testing.

Compensation and Contract Details

  • Hourly compensation: $95/hour on W-2.
  • Contract duration: Approximately 6 months.
  • Travel requirement: Approximately 80%.
  • Work location: On-site at designated data center project locations.
  • Travel expenses and accommodations: To be confirmed during the hiring process.

Important Eligibility Requirement

Applicants must hold an active BCxP or CxA credential and have direct experience commissioning fully liquid-cooled data center halls. Candidates who do not meet both requirements will not qualify for this position.

The selected candidate must also be able to perform the independent Commissioning Authority function without conflicts arising from equipment sales responsibilities.

How to Apply

Qualified candidates should submit a current resume detailing their commissioning experience, liquid-cooled data center projects, MEP expertise, and active BCxP or CxA credential. Include examples of commissioning Levels 1–5, load-bank testing, and integrated systems testing where applicable.
