About the Role

JCTTEK is seeking a highly experienced Principal MEP Advisor – Design Authority to provide technical design oversight and engineering guidance for advanced AI infrastructure and mission-critical facility projects.

This director-level position serves as a technical authority responsible for reviewing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) designs, evaluating engineering partners, and establishing design review standards for high-density computing environments.

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in mission-critical facilities, advanced liquid-cooling technologies, and infrastructure design. This role focuses on technical governance, design validation, partner oversight, and executive-level stakeholder engagement rather than hands-on installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical design authority for MEP systems supporting AI infrastructure and mission-critical facilities.
  • Review, evaluate, and redline engineering designs covering electrical power distribution, cooling systems, facility layouts, and fire suppression.
  • Assess designs for technical feasibility, reliability, scalability, safety, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance on high-density liquid-cooled infrastructure designed to support advanced GPU and AI computing environments.
  • Review design documentation, engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, and proposed system configurations.
  • Qualify, evaluate, and oversee external engineering and delivery partners, including MEP engineering firms and commissioning agents.
  • Establish design review processes, technical standards, and repeatable methodologies for infrastructure engagements.
  • Identify design risks, technical gaps, coordination issues, and potential performance limitations before construction or deployment.
  • Collaborate with project leadership, clients, engineering partners, and senior stakeholders to resolve complex technical decisions.
  • Present design recommendations, risks, and mitigation strategies to executive-level stakeholders.
  • Support technical governance throughout design development, construction coordination, and project delivery.
  • Promote consistent engineering quality, documentation standards, and best practices across multiple engagements.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 12 years of experience in data center engineering, mission-critical facilities, MEP design, or related infrastructure disciplines.
  • Deep technical expertise in high-density liquid cooling and advanced cooling architectures.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems supporting mission-critical computing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing, validating, and redlining complex engineering designs.
  • Experience overseeing external engineering consultants, MEP firms, commissioning agents, or other technical delivery partners.
  • Proven ability to identify design risks, assess technical trade-offs, and provide actionable engineering recommendations.
  • Experience advising senior leaders, executives, clients, and other key stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, technical documentation, leadership, and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 80% to support project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI Factory developments and high-density GPU infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with NVIDIA GPU computing environments and the associated power and cooling requirements.
  • Experience with liquid-to-liquid cooling systems, direct-to-chip cooling, coolant distribution units, and supporting facility infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution, backup power, redundancy, fire protection, and mission-critical facility planning.
  • Experience developing engineering governance frameworks, design review standards, or technical delivery methodologies.
  • Background supporting hyperscale, enterprise, or colocation infrastructure projects.

Leadership and Technical Governance

This is a senior, director-level advisory position focused on engineering design authority and partner oversight. The selected candidate will guide technical decisions, establish repeatable design review methodologies, and help ensure that engineering partners deliver solutions aligned with project requirements.

The position is not primarily a self-performing installation role. Success requires strong engineering judgment, the ability to influence senior stakeholders, and experience governing complex infrastructure design and delivery.

Contract Details

  • Duration: Approximately 6 months.
  • Travel: Approximately 80%.
  • Work environment: Client and project sites, with travel as required.
  • Compensation: To be confirmed during the recruitment process.

How to Apply

Qualified candidates should submit a current resume highlighting their MEP design authority experience, mission-critical facility projects, high-density liquid-cooling expertise, engineering design reviews, and executive-level advisory experience.
